AB Hilmer Andersson
was founded as early as the 1920s. It was then that Hilmer Andersson from Lässerud had his first sawmill built, which would later develop into one of the larger ones in Värmland. Professional pride and a sense of quality have ensured continued growth, as several generations of the owning family and employees have driven the company forward in the same progressive spirit.
Nils, Kari and Karl Andersson
Today the company is run by the fourth generation through Per's three children, Nils, Kari and Karl. Kari holds the role of CEO, Nils as production manager and chairman of the board, while Karl is CEO of the subsidiary Hilmer Bygg & Trä AB.
With the same responsibility for continuity, local ties and faith in the future, the steps lead onwards towards future generations.

Per Andersson
In 1994, the grandson Per Andersson took over the helm of the family business. He continued to develop the operations towards even greater customer value. According to him, it was about producing and further developing the forest as the raw material that best responds to the customers” needs, both in the local market and as an export product. During his years as CEO, the company grew rapidly and major investments, including in a new processing plant, were carried out. All to stay one step ahead, to be able to meet customer demand and to respond to a changing market. He lived and worked by the motto, ”either development or liquidation".
A good first impression is important, so Per had the office renovated and extended. With an entrance clad in unedged timber panel siding, slate flooring and large windows, visitors are welcomed by a closeness to nature and a grounding in authenticity and quality.
Per held his home district close to his heart and was careful to support local sports and business activities.
Yngve Andersson
Hilmer Andersson’s son, Yngve Andersson, modernised the sawmill in several stages and more than doubled the sawmill's capacity more than once.
He was known for his great interest in technology. Yngve Andersson also experienced the computerisation of the sawmill industry and was always quick off the mark when it came to adopting new technical solutions. He realised at an early stage the importance of computers in forest management as well.

Hilmer Andersson lived to experience both the barking machine, forklifts and the timber dryer. Even during his time, the sawmill developed into one of the largest in Värmland.
The other families
AB Hilmer Andersson is a family business in more ways than one. Among the employees, it is easy to find three generations on past and present payrolls. The planning mill foreman's father was a saw setter for nearly 40 years at Hilmer Andersson's sawmill. And his uncles were a sawmill foreman and sawyer respectively for many years.
This means that the tradition and experience reside not only within the owner family, but also among many employees. This translates to professional pride, a sense of quality and a shared responsibility for the company's future.
